Yzerfontein off the R27 - a jewel on the West Coast.
We are proud to introduce and welcome you to Lewens Essens B&B where you will find "essence for your soul". Amongst other things, the unobstructed 180-degree views will reward you with the most stunning sunsets. We are situated on the beachfront, no more than 20 meters from the rocks and the sea.
Yzerfontein is home to the nearly extinct Oyster Catcher, a beautiful black bird with red feet and beak. The seasonal whales and dolphins also surprise one often with their maneuvers and can be watched from the comfort of your room. The walking trail that passes in front of the house along the sea, will introduce you to fynbos and flowers, the fishing harbour and the different angling spots, like High Bank, Freddy's Rock and Deurspring.
You can explore the coastline along white sandy beaches, take a boat trip to Dassen Island or explore the abundant sea life in the shallow pools. In the evenings the moonlight is just a little more breathtaking than in the cities, because we are fortunate not to have any streetlights.
Master Bedroom (cum Honeymoon Suite)
This room is well equipped for the guest who likes to stay in luxury and comfort. Double sliding doors opening onto a balcony, a spa bath and double basin, king size bed, CD/radio player, Tea/coffee facility, TV and hair dryer, are standard amenities.
We also decorate this room for the romantic honeymoon couple, with cream drapes, lace and satin fittings, large red roses and cushions to promise an unforgettable experience.
African Room
Situated on the ground floor, this room has its own entrance with a sliding door opening onto a private patio with chairs, table and umbrella for the sun lovers. It is equipped with an on-suite shower, TV, clock radio, tea/coffee facility and hair dryer.
