Longacre B&B is unique in that it is situated almost equidistant between Durban (beach) and Pietermaritzburg (Meander/Berg) on the famous
Comrades Marathon route once part of the old Ox-Wagon route between Durban and Johannesburg.
Our B&B offers stunning views over "The Valley of 1000 Hills" where the contours, colours and shadows change continually and create what many of our guests refer to as a totally spiritual experience, with one moment views to the Berg and the next a shroud of thick mist covering the entire area. Many who stay here spend a day just relaxing around the pool area soaking in this fabulous vista.
We offer 3 separate B&B units on the property. A lovely thatched cottage in the front garden,very private,overlooking "the hills" and often used as a honeymoon suite, as it is so cosy and quiet and comforable.A second twin room,again with beautiful white linen,a large bathroom and quiet patio of its own. A mini kitchen gives you the option of self-catering if preferred. Lastly a larger 2 roomed unit suitable for a family of 4/5 people with full kitchen, lounge (including single bed and twin sleeper-couch) and separate double-bedroom en-suite.
All rooms have tea/coffee/milk/sugar, large fridge, TV with Satellite/M-Net, heaters and fans. We prefer that smoking is kept to the outside areas to satisfy the "no smoking" laws of the country.
Restaurants,hotels and country pubs abound in the area as well as shopping malls (
Inanda and Nagle Dams are in close proximity as is Tala game reserve and Shongweni stables and Polo fields. Airport collections/Dinners by prior arrangement.
