MacFarlanes' picturesque setting on the bank of a large lake allows idyllic days of birding, bass fishing and canoeing. It also offers opportunities for berry picking, long walks and climbs, horseback rides and mountain biking.
Small game abound on the farm. An otter family has made the dam their home while mountain reedbuck and other smaller species of buck wander down to water occasionally. At night mating calls of jackal and the nocturnal sounds of birds under severely clear skies make the campfire experience special.
All this allows for de-stressing in utmost tranquillity and peace, and family times to be remembered.
The cottage has two comfortable en-suite double bedrooms and an upper deck with four single beds, all of which has beautiful views, a cosy lounge area with fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. A large antique dining table allows for memorable times to be enjoyed. Linen and towels are provided, as well as electric blankets for our famous winter nights. Please bring own towels for recreational purposes.
TV and decoder provided, please bring own smart card. Canoes are provided for use at own risk, but firewood can be bought on site while a lapa presents several braai options and the opportunity for a large campfire.
The cottage is serviced upon departure. Additional servicing is available by arrangement and an additional fee. No fees are charged for either fishing or berry picking, as it is only for consumption on location.
