Three fully equipped self-catering units, overlooking orchards, old sandstone
buildings and Ventersberg, the highest mountain in the area.
The path leading to Mama Fourie's is lawned and ensures a soft landing. It is in
contrast with all the dirt roads in town.
Two old busses (a Thames and Ford with nose) have been restored and changed into
a kitchen and dining area. By doing so we offer a unique dining experience on
site. Booking essential. We offer a Jukskei course (only true SA sport) and an
outdoor chess board.
Beautifully decorated with unusual enamel fittings, natural stained cement
floors, white bed linen, towels and Sechewshwe fabrics.
Each cottage has braai facilities and safe off street parking. Rooms are heated
by wall panels. The kitchen/living areas are open plan, with wooden dining
tables and chairs, lounge chairs and a TV and DVD player for watching own DVD's.
Each kitchen has a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, casserole dish, salad
bowl, pyrex dish, electric frying pan, and crockery and cutlery for 4.
Each bathroom has a loo, basin and shower. All the twin/king size beds have
electric blankets in winter or hot water bottles for kids.
All our guests say our beds are the best, the cottages are very clean. We go out
of our way to make their stay, one not to be forgotten.
Fouriesburg is only 33km away from Clarens, known artist and shopping village.
We are 8km from the Caledonspoort border post into Lesotho, 150km from Katsi Dam
and 87km from Afriski Resort, both in Lesotho. A lot of guests prefer to stay in
Fouriesburg and visit Lesotho for the day. Fouriesburg area boasts of various
4x4 tracks, hiking trials, fresh water fishing opportunities, horse riding and
quad bike rides. We will arrange these on request. Walibri Art Glass in town
hosts workshops and tours of their studio. They recyle glass and do wonderful
things.
