Located at No 27 Green Lane in the charming village of Umzumbe on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. The home accommodates eight persons.
Set aloft in a splendid one acre garden of indigenous trees, flower beds and lawns, the home majestically presides over the warm Indian Ocean. The dignified home is immaculately appointed and comprises four bedrooms, two mains en suite. The two mains have queen size double beds and contain electronically operated safes. The other two bedrooms have two single beds and share a bathroom. All bedrooms have a view of the sea.
The bright, spotless kitchen boasts two large double door fridge / freezers, dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer, stove and oven, microwave, coffee percolator, toaster and snackwich maker.
The lounge suit is of warm leather and faces onto the comforting fire place. The parquet floors are enriched by Persian carpets. The yellowwood and glass dining room table seats eight persons.
The cool bay windowed television room has DStv and is furnished with cane furniture and includes a cane pub.
The entertainment area leads off from the bay room and overlooks the sparkling blue swimming pool and the Indian Ocean. The area has both a covered and wide open area. The covered section is cool during the summer and is well protected from the notorious on-shore breeze. The built in braai is located in this area. The open area is a delight for sun lovers and the hundred year old aloe tree next to the pool is a feature of the garden.
The home is a few minutes stroll away from the delightful secluded beach, good for fishing, rock pool bathing or taking the dog for a walk. The swimming beach with life guards and ablutions is within easy walking distance down the way. There are numerous restaurants close by and there are seven exquisite golf courses within easy motoring distance. Activities such as hiking, deep sea fishing, on sea dolphin and whale watching, reef diving and extreme shark diving are all available within a short drive from Umzumbe and can be arranged on request.
The property is secure and there are two lock-up garages. Mandalay sleeps eight and is decidedly for up-market guests only. Pets are welcome except for ferocious breeds of dogs such as Rotweilers, Pit Bulls or Boerbulls etc. Serviced by arrangement if required. Beach towels are not provided.
