Experience the rustic beauty of a new lodge in the heart of KwaZulu Natal's
thornveld. The Moorings Lodge is situated on the shores of Wagendrift Dam in a
3000-hectare conservancy and has panoramic views of the dam and adjoining hills.
It consists of two fully furnished self-catering chalets which each sleep six.
Each unit consists of a main bedroom ensuite and an open-plan kitchen, dinning
room and lounge, which lead onto a lovely veranda and braai area. The upstairs
sleeping area is attractively arranged to accommodate four beds and has an
upstairs bathroom.
Access for guests is exclusively by boat and hiring of a boat can be arranged.
The dam offers a variety of water sport activities such as water skiing,
wakeboarding and sailing. It is also an ideal getaway for families who enjoy
fishing, birding and the peaceful outdoors. Abseiling and water rafting can also
be arranged in the nearby Bushman's river. The lodge is situated between the
Midlands Meander and the Drakensberg. It is perfect for history lovers, who can
visit the many "battlefield sights" in the area. For golfers there is the
well-manicured Weenen
Game Reserve are approximately 34 Km's away.
Due to the remote location of the lodge, there is no Internet or electricity
although a generator is run for lighting in the evenings. The Moorings lodge is
the perfect destination for those who wish to escape the stresses of modern day
living.
