Mount Vernon B&B is on a wine estate between Stellenbosch and Paarl, at
Klapmuts. The B&B is in a garden cottage which has a double bedroom with a
dressing room, bathroom/toilet and a sitting room/dining area and kitchen. The
bathroom has a bath and a shower. It is a stand alone building near the family
manor house.
The cottage has under floor heating in winter and is tastefully decorated. There
is a veranda from where there is a view over the farm garden and it is
surrounded by a security fence. There is a swimming pool for guests to use, wine
tasting and lovely walks on the farm. Mount Vernon was awarded the top award in
2010 for the best small cellar and boasts some excellent red and white wines
that have received top awards. The cottage is well suited to bike riding on the
farm and surrounding area. The area offers good restaurants and many wine
tasting opportunities. It is a restful environment and can be enjoyed by people
wanting a quiet time. The farm is approximately 2 kms from the N1 and is
convenient for commuting into the city. There are a number of wedding venues in
the area and is conveniently situated to these.
The accommodation is serviced every day.
Accommodation ideal for 2 people and arrangements can be made for a child if needs be.
A Continental Breakfast basket is offered in the morning which includes; muesli,
fruit, scones, croissants and jam. Tea, coffee and rusks are available all day.
For evening dining out ,there are plentiful award winning restaurants in Paarl
and Stellenbosch and the Top Ten restaurant Babel is a couple of kilometers down
the road at the bottom corner of the farm.
