Set in a sweeping landscape of wide open spaces and spectacular sunsets, New Holme combines traditional Karoo hospitality with vast scenic beauty. A warm homely atmosphere with two en-suite bedrooms and a family unit with two rooms sharing a bathroom. After a magnificent Karoo sunset, under the star-studded sky enjoy an original barbeque with a variety of farm style dishes in the boma. Activities include sundowners at the hippo pool, night drives, horse riding and fishing.
On the banks of the Zeecow river, which drains the vast Karooveld, this farm, which was originally a thoroughbred racehorse stud farm, is presently an active sheep and ostrich business.
We are to be found 8km off the N1 national highway, halfway between Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. 20 kilometres from
Hanover and fifty kilometres from Colesberg. Signboards are present to direct you.
On this 12 000 hectare farm, we have endless activities to provide you with the ultimate African Karoo experience. We have a variety of vegetation types with mountains, hills, plains and permanent water, which provide ample suitable habitats for many wildlife species. For birdwatchers we have between 180 and 240 different species at present.
An airstrip (1300m) is available for those who require a fly-in destination.
