Nokeng Eco Lodge is situated in unspoiled bushveld alongside the beautiful
Elands River. We're a mere 45 min north east of Pretoria, and 1½ hours from
Johannesburg. We are also just 30km away from the Rust de Winter dam.
Nokeng Eco-Lodge is a perfect place for:

- Family reunions and birthday parties

- Couples needing a break from city life, and
- anyone wanting to experience the bushveld in its most pure and natural form
Formerly known as Pietella Bushveld Farm, the lodge has been in the same family
for more the 35 years and with the younger generation taking over it was decided
to give the lodge a new name and extensive upgrades.
We're absolutely committed to great service and to making your stay with us as
memorable as possible. It's important to us that you leave with wonderful
memories and a rested spirit!
Cottages
We have 6 beautiful stone and thatch cottages that are fully equipped for a
rustic self-catering breakaway. Each cottage is totally self-contained with it's
own private entrance, with an adjoining boma / braai area.
The kitchens are equipped with a fridge, stove and sink, kettle and toaster, and
crockery and cutlery. Each cottage has electricity with hot and cold water, and
linen - just please bring your own towels.
The cottages are close to the pool for a refreshing swim, and there is a large
communal boma for sundowners around an open fire. Communal braai facilities are
also available near the pool.
Our cottages are all named after indigenous trees that occur in the area:
Karee (6 - 8 people)
Karee has 2 bedrooms with double beds, a loft room with 2 single beds (a hit
with children!) and built-in couches in the living area that can sleep 2 extra
people. The bathroom is creatively unusual with a shower, and the kitchen is
fully equipped.
There's a private boma area outside where you can braai, or simply enjoy a
crackling fire whilst listening to the night time sounds of the bushveld.
Although Karee is quite close to the neighbouring cottage, it is screened by
trees and pleasantly secluded.
Wildevy (2 - 4 people)
Wildevy has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds.
Additional beds can be moved into this room if required.
The bathroom has a bath and the kitchen is fully equipped.
The covered outside braai area is creatively built, and looks out over the
swimming pool.
Rooibos (4 - 6 people)
Rooibos is set back from the other cottages, and is surrounded by a large grass
area for the kids to play on. It is also close to the volleyball court and the
jungle gym.
There are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds, as
well as a double bunk just off the living area. Additional beds can be moved
into this room if required.
The bathroom has a bath and the kitchen is fully equipped.
Wag 'n Bietjie (2 - 5 people)
Wag 'n Bietjie has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 3 single
beds. Additional beds can be moved into this room if required. The bathroom has
a shower and the kitchen is fully equipped.
The outside braai area looks out towards the swimming pool, and there's a
wonderful big lawn area for the kids to play on.
Blinkblaar (2 - 5 people)
Blinkblaar is the most secluded of all our cottages, and is perfect for total
privacy. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single
beds and a built-in couch.
The bathroom has a shower and the kitchen is fully equipped.
The outside covered patio area is completely surrounded by wild trees and veld.
Conference Hall
Our rustic Seekoei Hall ("Hippo Hall") can comfortably seat up to 100 people,
and has an adjoining kitchen.
Tables and chairs are available for conferences, as well as for large seated
audiences.
Unfortunately we don't provide audio visual equipment (including projectors and
laptops), so please bring your own!
Dining Hall
We have a beautiful large thatch eating hall overlooking the pool area that is
attached to Seekoei Hall.
Activities
Activities include:
- a large swimming pool with 2 lapas
- over 2km of beautiful and wild river frontage with secluded picnic spots
- fishing
- mountain bike trails
- walking / trail running paths
- bird watching - over 450 species in our area including the rare African Finfoot (in our river!)
- an obstacle course next to the Elandsriver
- bread-baking in an abandoned ant heap
- volleyball
- jungle gym
- farm tractor rides
