On arriving at Olive Grove Guest Farm you will be surprised at the beauty that
exists in this arid and dreary environment. This is a true oasis. The vast mountain
vistas, olive
orchards and Karoo country-side will impress on your heart that this
is a land of enchantment. We are close enough off the N1(only 10min. drive, 15km)
and far enough so that your stay won't be affected by the continuous drone of
vehicles on the N1. This is a working olive, sheep and game farm, where you are
welcome to roam freely on 5000ha, by walking, driving or mountain biking the various roads and paths.
Our achievements over the years in the AA Accommodation Awards Programme prove
our consistency in standard and service. Catering is typically Karoo Country
Cuisine. Dinner and Breakfast is served on a daily basis.
Remember if you look for nothing you will find nothing, this "desert" supports
over 200 recorded bird species, various species of large and small game. Fossils
and starry skies will keep the inquiring mind racing.
Our accommodation consists of 5 Luxury Suites and 7 Stylish Chalets of which
all are 4 star graded and approved by the Tourism Grading CouncilSouth Africa (TGCSA)
- Luxury Suites: One queensize bed and a single bed. Sleeping
maximum 3.
- Stylish Chalets: Two bedrooms in each chalet. The main bedroom
has a double/queensize bed. The spare bedroom has two single beds. The
lounge has a sleeper couch.Sleeping maximum 6.
All our units are equipped with extra touches that make you feel
pampered.Soap, handwash, body wash, body lotion, tissues, insect repellent
amongst others....
Our units are equipped with air-conditioning and hot blankets to ensure climate comfort. Extras include DSTV, braai facilities, swimming pool, walking trail for
your enjoyment.
Enjoy the tea/coffee facility with fresh milk and home baked koekies. The units
are serviced daily by neatly dressed and polite staff.
If you demand more than just relaxation, the Porcupine trail complete with bird
hide offers Karoo scenery, vegetation and flora. There are 19 points of interest
recorded in a booklet for an informative and enjoyable walk. The bird life is
prolific in our area, a bird list is available. The farm is littered with fossils
millions of years old, guests have found and identified numerous pieces - enjoy the
fossil trail at the Karoo National Park. Farm drives can be arranged our property and game drives in the Karoo National Park. Hunting in Season. 4x4 enthusiasts can explore our farm or enjoy the mapped route
/ guided route in the Karoo National Park. Star gazing at its best in the Karoo with
the help of a personal expert - Astro Tours SA - plan a stargazing weekend with
friends/family/colleagues every New Moon on our farm - on arrangement. Explore our
beautiful farm on horseback (Clover and Elsa) - on arrangement. Quad biking and canoeing available on the premises at an additional fee.
