Things to do
Mtunzini is a residential village. So whilst there are pubs and restaurants, the village is quiet. People wishing to shop, go to movies etc need only travel 40kms north to Richards Bay, 80kms south to Ballito Bay or 100kms south to the biggest shopping mall in Kwa Zulu Natal, the Gateway centre in Umhlanga.
Business
Business people can relax in an unpolluted environment and do business in Isithebe (Mandini), Empangeni and Richards Bay, all within a 50km radius of Mtunzini. Durban is 135km south of Mtunzini.
Activities
Mtunzini Country Club invites visitors to use their facilities. They offer tennis, squash and have a challenging nine hole par 71 golf course. Besides trying to make a few birdies, birders may spot a rare Palmnut Vulture gliding over the course to nest in the nearby Raphia Palms, one of the few declared National Monuments in South Africa.
