Paternoster the place:

The picturesque fishing town of Paternoster is internationally known for its abundance of Cape Lobster (Crayfish) and other delicious sea produce. Situated 140 km from Cape Town, it is only 90 minutes drive away from Cape Town International Airport. Its unique West Coast Character, tranquillity and natural beauty has become a favourite and regular destination for many national and international tourists.

Paternoster is one of the oldest coastal towns along the West Coast. It is a community with limited physical infrastructure, yet extremely rich in its culture and heritage. Its typical fishermen style village architecture, pristine beaches, whales and dolphins, breathtaking sunsets enhances the unique character of the most beautiful coastal town on the West Coast.

Accommodation:

The Lodge offers seven elegant, spacious en-suite rooms; all with magnificent sea views of long sandy beach. All rooms have double beds and in some of the rooms the beds can be split into single units. The rooms all have under floor heating, fans, fridge with mini-bar and DSTV (no card required). The interiors soft furnishings and textures reflect the combination of sand beaches and seashells and the soft fabrics ensures ultimate comfort and enjoyment.

Conferencing and events :

The Lodge can host conferences, workshops, breakaways and teambuilding of up to 60 people. All modern facilities are available including proxima, big screen, TV, DVD and overhead projector. The downstairs facility can also be used for small functions which accommodates 60 people. A cosy pub with big screen is situated adjacent to the events facility.

Weddings:

The romantic setting and easy charm of the Lodge makes this is a prime venue for Wedding receptions of up to 120 guests. With a quaint church only 200m away for a church ceremony away or a beach ceremony even closer; ether way you have a winning combination with Paternoster Lodge for an ideal wedding venue.

We do the co-ordination, decor, flowers and menu to suit your taste and budget. We can advise you on services such as music, hairdresser, photographer, beauty salon and a reverend to conduct the matrimony.

All finer accessories and details such as tablecloths, chair covers with tiebacks, organza runners, overlays and drapings are organized to keep the bride and groom relaxed for their wedding day.

Activities:

Paternoster offers holiday makers a relaxed holiday away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Walking on beaches and in the Columbine nature reserve, viewing the manned light house (one of the 14 left in SA) ,snorkeling, kayaking and fishing can be done in and around Paternoster. Birding can be done at Langebaan lagoon (50km) away. At the West Coast Fossil park more can be learnt about our not so recent past. During springtime the surrounding area of Cape Columbine is covered with beautiful wild flowers.
