This historic holiday haven provides a prime holiday spot for the family on
the beach. The best view of the Indian Ocean is at your doorstep. You cannot get
closer to the beach than this - you are, in fact, on the beach. Built on stilts
to allow the high spring tides to wash under the house, this quaint 102 year
old, 4 bedroom, 8 sleeper cottage is situated on the shore of Still bay West,
approximately midway between the Goukou River mouth and the fisherman's harbour.
The town of Still bay adopted its name from the sheltered bay in front of the
house. Walk off the sun deck onto the beach.
The water is at your doorstep, which makes all your water activities a pleasure
- no need to get into a car or hassle with a long walk to the beach. A bonus, in
the winter months, is to sit on the deck or even in the lounge, and watch the
whales at play in the sea. Watch the bathers, surfers, kite boarders from the
luxury of your own deck.
Activities:
- The bay is ideal for swimming, surfing, kite boarding, snorkeling,
kayaking and fishing;
- Whale watching is very exciting during the winter months;
- The town boasts 2 beautiful 9 hole golf courses, squash court, tennis
club, water skiing facilities, bird hide and hiking trails;
- Fishing and canoeing in the river is a must;
- Cycling is also very popular;
- In season, Still bay has 4 restaurants and 2 breakfast spots. Or walk to
the lovely harbour and buy your own fresh fish;
- The town has a well stocked Spar and food Ok. You can purchase all that
you will need in the centre.
The house consists of:
- 4 Bedrooms - 2 with double beds and 2 with 2x single beds in each;
- 2 Full Bathrooms - 1 with a shower;
- 1 Guest toilet;
- A "must use" outside shower with hot and cold water;
- Open plan lounge/dining room;
- A very well equipped kitchen has a 5 burner gas stove, electric oven,
micro wave, dishwasher, all the cutlery and crockery, pots and pans needed
to make gourmet chef smile.
- Washing machine and tumble dryer;
- TV with DSTV decoder. Bring your own smartcard
- 2 Full fridges and a separate chest freezer;
- House cleaning can be arranged on request;
