Two charming cottages
Howick. The cottages consist of a twin bedroom with bathroom, plus a large dining/lounge area fully equipped with fridge, toaster, microwave and tea making facilities, plus TV and air conditioning (heaters to keep you warm during cold winter nights and fans for the summer). One cottage has accommodation in the lounge area for two extra people. The swimming pool, just a few steps away from your front door, can be covered for safety should there be little children in your party. All guests receive friendly service. English or continental breakfast is served. Other meals can be taken at one of the many excellent restaurants nearby. Entry into the property is through electric gates with ample secure parking.
Penny's B&B is ideally situated on the
Midlands Meander route, with many interesting craft outlets to visit, plus the mountains only a few hours away, and Durban and the beaches only 1 hour away. An ideal getaway or stopover from Gauteng (5 hours).
Nearby activities and attractions include:
- Umgeni Valley Nature Reserve - Here there are opportunities for walks, bird watching and game viewing.
- Golf courses - 3 well maintained courses.
- Polo at Karkloof, hosting many international and national tournaments during the winter months.
- Karkloof Canopy tours - amazing views over the indigenous bush with some of the longest slides in SA.
- The Howick Falls and craft stalls - take a walk past various craft stalls on the way to the falls, which are most spectacular in summer after good rains.
- Midmar Dam and nature reserve - here boating, sailing and picnicking are favourites for all ages.
