Platrand Lodge has been established on the farm Fouries Kraal on the Southern
boundaries of Ladysmith. All 4000 hectares of the farm are fenced for the 17
different types of game, although the main activity is the breeding of Brangus
cattle. We are situated in a malaria free area, 5km south of Ladysmith on the
N11 to the Ladysmith airfield.
Each of our 22 rooms has its own undercover parking. All the rooms are equiped
with a fully stockd bar fridge, air-conditioning, hair dryer, selected DStv
channels, tea/coffee facilities, room service and safe. Enjoy the view of the
bush veld from your own private balcony. 24 hour security provides peace of
mind.
All the bathrooms consist of a shower, his and her basin, bidet and bath.
The Colonial is our elegant and intimate restaurant. We serve sumptuous
breakfast buffet from 06h30 to 09h00 daily. Our evening buffet is served from
18h00 to 22h00, Monday to Saturday. Sunday meals are for the whole family. The
buffet is served from 12h00 to 14h30. If a buffet is not your thing we also have
a light snack menu available all day. We have a special kiddies room namely "Woelwater"
where the little ones can eat and watch cartoon network without the adults
"disturbing" them.
We have two function rooms at Platrand Lodge, namely the "Banket" room and the
"Councillor". The "Banket" room with stat of the art sound equipment can
accommodate up to 250 guests including a dance floor abd up to 400 people for a
seated conference. The "Councillor" is the smaller of the two venues and can
accommodate up to 25 people.
Weddings are our speciality and we ensure that the bride and groom will have a
memorable day.
