Located in the heart of Casterbridge Lifestyle Centre is rustic but elegant
Magnolia Restaurant. Open, free flowing spaces combined with eclectic
decor, the gorgeous locally made MUD chandelier (6000 mud beads!) that
greets you upon entry, the large antique wooden centrepiece table decorated
with fresh flowers are all fine details that subliminally places you in an
international and stylish setting.
Magnolia Restaurant boasts a fresh look with a European twist. Past meets
present. Perhaps it’s the hanging lampshades crafted from Mozambican
driftwood whose soft light throws a warm glow over the bar area, the centre
wall covered in magnolia tree wall paper that catches your eye as you’re led
to your table, or Magnolia’s very own life size sexy Marilyn Munroe behind
the men’s cubical door that increases your curiosity as to what other
interesting design elements you may find.
Head Chef of a number of reputable restaurants, including the well known
Paranga Hotel - Jamie Watt is no stranger to the industry and is embracing
his new role in opening Magnolia. He describes his dishes as “good, honest
food” – what you read on the menu is what you’ll taste on your palate.
The seasonal and varied dishes are inspired by fresh ingredients and
perfectly suited to all taste buds. For someone who was nominated as Young
Chef of the Year in his trainee years, Jamie has an impressive resume and
lists The Queen, Prince Charles, FW de Klerk and Charlise Theron as some of
the most famous people he has prepared meals for. His professional
background includes stints at Plettenberg Park, The Cape Milner Hotel, and
The Royal Hotel amongst others.
Located adjacent to the newly opened Casterbridge Hollow Boutique Hotel,
Magnolia Restaurant caters for dinner, private functions for the public and
hotel guests. Relaxed breakfasts and light lunches can be enjoyed at the
stylish and French-influenced Magnolia Cafe, situated directly below
Magnolia Restaurant.
