Riders Rest offers you an Old World, colonial, farm-like ambience. Come and
kick off your shoes and enjoy our relaxed home-from-home atmosphere. You will
find peaceful garden spots, some with marina views for dreaming, reading, or
just meditating. Alternatively, take a brisk 800m walk to miles and miles of
pristine beaches, ideal for sand-boarding, surfing and fishing. Or spend the day
on Port Alfred's " Blue Flag " beach with all amenities and safety for family
fun just 3kms from Riders Rest.
Our Rooms:
Comfortable accommodation with three Double Luxury Bedrooms. Each bedroom is
en-suite with slipper bath and shower. The luxurious beds invite a cozy nights
rest and each room has its own entrance off the delightful farm-style verandah.
All rooms are equipped with electric kettle, tea and coffee. Normal channel TV
and linked DStv is also available. Join us for a hearty farm-style breakfast in
our country kitchen.
Facilities:
Port Alfred has most of the necessary shopping facilities within walking
distance of Riders Rest and abounds with numerous bistro's, restaurants, street
cafe's and pubs to satisfy most taste buds. Many of these enjoy either sea or
river views. Bird watching, horse riding, hiking trails, game drives, golf,
tennis, water skiing canoeing and squash are all available within a 15km radius
of Riders Rest. Estelle and Gus will organize excursions up the Kowie river with
braai packs and picnic baskets available on request. You can visit many
historical sites and villages, one of these being Bathurst where you will find
the oldest pub in the country.
