We have guest accommodation on our farm Rondomskrik near Malmesbury. Come and
experience life on a working farm. Children are welcome.
Accommodation:
There are two adjoining self-catering units - each in a wing of the original
farmhouse with lovely authentic beamed ceilings (now an outbuilding near the
current homestead).
Each unit consists of a living area with kitchenette, bedroom and bathroom. The
one unit, 'Sella's Hoogte', has a double bed in the bedroom and a double sleeper
couch in the living area and the other unit, 'Sekretaarsbos', with a double bed
and two single beds in the bedroom.
Each unit has a 'stoep' with wonderful views of the Darling plains, wheat fields
and vineyards. There are outside braai facilities and fireplaces inside for the
winter.
Each unit has a television with SABC television stations, the one unit has
air-conditioning and the other a roof fan. Heated towel rails in each unit.
Meals:
Both units are self-catering.The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave and
two-plate stove. Each units has its own private braai facility and stoep.
Meals are available when ordered beforehand. The cold breakfast consists of
bread, jam, cheese, cold meats and yoghurt. A braai dinner can also be ordered:
an appetiser, meat to braai, with a salad and side-dish, as well as something
sweet for dessert. Meals will change from season to season and also according to
guests' preferences.
Activities:
Come and relax in the peacefulness of the Swartland countryside, take a walk
through the farm to a scenic viewing point. Do some birdwatching along the vlei
or feed our potbelly pigs and chickens. You can even help give a bottle of milk
to hungry lambs (in lambing season). There are several dirt roads for biking and
even a 'koppie' to climb if you are feeling energetic!
Conservation:
We are currently busy working with Cape Nature to establish a Conservancy,
bringing farmers in our area together to set aside some land that will not be
farmed, to conserve the unique renosterveld of this area. Take a walk through
this undisturbed veld, keep a look out for our resident buck and maybe you’ll be
lucky to see the porcupines that have been on our farm for decades.
Our farming community:
You can visit the other farms that are part of the Conservancy. Winetasting at
our local boutique wine cellar, Spekulasie Wine Estate, and have tea and scones
in their beautiful French style courtyard garden. Visit the neighbouring farm
Tweekuil to see their miniature goats, potbelly pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys
and lots of other farm animals. Visit the dairy on the neighbouring farm Vyevlei,
the biggest dairy in the western cape, milking close to 3000 cows three times a
day.
There is a classic cars collection consisting of over 20 classic and race cars
to visit on the farm Eenboom at Franki's Guest Lodge and their wine cellar
making wines from rare cultivars.

We are 10 minutes' drive out of Malmesbury which has wonderful historic
buildings and various restuarants and ammenities.

Rondomskrik is situated on the R45 north of Malmesbury, en route to Hopefield
and Vredenburg. The farm is situated 7 km from the N7, a total of 14 km
northwest of Malmesbury.
We are centrally located to reach Darling, Hopefield, Moorreesburg, the Riebeeck
Valley as well as West Coast towns like Yzerfontein for
day-trips.
