SLAMPAMPER GUEST HOUSE
Bed & Breakfast Accommodation
in Trompsburg, Transgariep & Goldfields,
Free State, South Africa
Slampamper is situated in
Trompsburg, directly off the main N1-highway: the ideal stopover between north and south.
Our 1930's house is situated in a quiet, safe neighbourhood. Sit on the stoep and watch small-town platteland world go by or enjoy a sundowner under the trees in the garden.
The house consists of two bedrooms inside, both with en-suite bathrooms. One has
a double, single and small juvenile bed. The coach house outside has been converted into a spacious
bedroom (also en-suite) with a double and three-quarter bed. The rooms have bar fridges, tea/coffee trays and television.
The lounge doubles as library-cum second hand bookshop with a collection large and varied enough to satisfy the most fastidious bibliophile. There is also an old fashioned record player and a large collection of records to listen to. You'd wish you had come for the week instead of only a sleepover!
The pantry houses a small shop with home made preserves, biscuits, etc. Ideal gifts to take along for the people at the end of the journey.
Full English breakfasts are served.
This is a non-smoking establishment (lots of space outside, though!)
Well behaved pets are welcome.
An additional service offered for longer stays is tuition for people who wish to learn Afrikaans. A qualified and experienced teacher will teach serious students the intricacies of the grammar and for a less formal approach there will be the opportunity to discuss the weather in Afrikaans with locals, buy stamps and chocolates in this lingo and also get into touch with Afrikaner culture. Visits
to farms and other local places of interest can be organized.
Come and rejuvenate your soul-enjoy our wide open spaces, clean air and diamond studded night skies. Personal attention is guaranteed.
