Summer Place is the holiday home of the M A Bain Will Trust.

The downstairs storey is right on the water's edge of the Knysna lagoon and is available for short-term lets. At high tide, there is nearly meter-deep water right in front of the stoep. At low tide, a sandy beach is exposed with the water nearly 100 meters away.
The downstairs level of the house comprises a large living room with panoramic windows, leading onto a patio facing the lagoon, which is less than 3 meters below!
The main bedroom has a king-size double bed and the second bedroom comprises two single beds with a pullout under-bed, if required. Both bedrooms have stunning views of the lagoon.
The compact kitchen is well appointed with gas stove, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine.
The bathroom includes both shower and bath.

The upper storey is also available for short-term lets independently of the ground floor storey. This unit has its own entrance and comprises a large lounge/dining room and very large main bedroom, furnished with an extra-length king-size double bed. The second bedroom has bunk-beds. The main bedroom leads on to a view deck with breathtaking lagoon and mountain views. The open-plan kitchen is modern with all necessary appliances. The bathroom has a shower over the bath.
Access to the beach is via outside steps only.

Summer Place's location on the water's edge allows you to either soak up the sun on the patio, or take just a few steps down to the beach!
Swimming in the lagoon is safe. Knysna is on the eastern seaboard of RSA, promising warm seas all year round.
At low tide, playing beach games or walking on the sandy beach are favourite pastimes.
If boating makes a waterside holiday special for you, a mooring can be made available (charge is extra).

Summer Place is not serviced but for an extra charge you may request domestic help.

Smoking is limited to outdoors only.

Pets are not allowed.

TV (free channels) - DSTV on request, Weber braai/barbeque, sunshade, heater, all linen - no beach towels.

Access
Since Summer Place is on the water’s edge, there are approximately 30 steps from road level down to the lower level of the house. The steps are grouped with landings in-between but those who are not steady on their feet may find these steps tedious.

Regrettably Summer Place is not wheel-chair friendly.

General Information
The Heads are 500m from your doorstep. Apart from their scenic beauty, there is a restaurant and coffee shop which serves breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Knysna Town is approximately 7kms away. This is a bustling commercial village, with plenty of shops, banks, boutiques, curio shops, dozens of restaurants plus scores of drinking holes.
Knysna oysters are world famous and can be bought as they are taken from the lagoon.

The closest airport is George, with flights from Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth.

Things To Do Around Knysna
Sail, fish, windsurf, snorkel, kitesurf, walk, abseil, shop, sunbathe, birdwatch, cycle, kayak, surf, fly a kite, water-ski, swim or scuba.
Pezula, Simola and Knysna Golf Courses are all outstanding local golf courses. Fancourt in George is an hour’s drive away.
