The Cottage is situated above what used to be a four car garage and is reached by a flight of stairs. From its wooden deck there is a beautiful view of the valley.

The accommodation is under thatch and comprises 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen leading into an open plan living area. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed and there are 2 singles in the smaller room. The bathroom has both bath and shower, with plenty of hot water.

The Cottage has a fully contained kitchen with a four plate stove with an oven (soon to be gas) and the TV has all DSTV channels and is connected to a DVD player. Due to the ongoing electricity supply problem in Hilton we have a generator to provide power to the the property when the supply is down.

The Cottage is set in a secure, tranquil garden with a stream and abundant bird life. We have three (quiet) dogs.

Guests have use of the swimming pool and barbecue facilities. Use of the fully equipped gym is at an extra cost.

The Cottage is situated within easy reach of St. Anne's School and Hilton College, and is a very short drive from Cowan House. Hilton village is 5 to 8 minutes away and it is a 15 minute drive to central Pietermaritzburg.

Local attractions include the Howick Falls, Midmar Dam and further afield, historic battle grounds of the Boer and Zulu wars.
