Nestled in the spectacular Southern Drakensberg (A World Heritage Site) overlooking Lake Naverone is "The Cottage".
You will be greeted by the ever cheerful duo of Anton and Lillian who have worked on the property for 30 years.
Relax, chill in front of a roaring fire, walk the mountains, read or write a book, enjoy family time OR is it romance that you are after? All is provided for here!
Half an hours drive from Underberg into the southern Drakensberg range lies "The Cottage" (2kms away from the Drakensberg Gardens Hotel and "Time Share Resort"). This fabulously decorated cottage provides you and your loved ones with all the comforts you could require. Electric blankets, TV chill room, hot water bottles, 4 poster bed, all linen provided (guests must provide their own towels).
A fully equipped kitchen allows you to cook gourmet treats or simply heat up in the microwave. 2 fridges are available for bigger groups.
For recreation "The Cottage" has its own pool table, (children under supervision please) boulle croquet, badminton, bat and ball AND numerous board games to entertain you and the family for hours.
The majestic and extremely worthwhile Sani Pass is a two hour adventure to the top (passports and 4 wheel drive essential), a full day excursion, have lunch in the highest pub in Africa.
Walking in the area is absolutely spectacular. Walks range from the meander to the Rhino Peak at �3000 metres (guide recommended). Bushmen paintings are to be seen in the Parks Board walks (Parksboard gates are 10 minutes away and "the walks" are extremely beautiful), swim in crystal clear rock pools, picnic on a river, tube the morning away floating down the Umzimkulu. Horse rides are 5 minutes away. Fishing is available at the nearby resorts. Or simply breathe the clean fresh air and relax in the garden.
"The Cottage " is a wonderfully happy 'home away from home'.
Rooms
- 2x Double.
- 1x Single with 2 beds.
- 1x TV / 2-sleeper couch room (kiddies room). More can sleep on floor as well, but arrangements need to be made in advance.
- 1x Cot available.
My staff make beds, wash dishes, prepare fireplace, clean the house, set tables for meals, they do not prepare meals. Anton can prepare the braai (
please note: in the dry season this is not recommended for fear of fire). Bed linen provided, bring your own towels. DStv, DVD and CD player available (please bring your own DStv smart card and DVD's).
