The Old Mill Hotel which opened its doors in 2004 started off as a local
feed-mill. We are situated in the tranquil little town off of Machadodorp, which
is well known for its trout fishing; the hotel is only 20m from the Elands River
which runs through a beautiful public park that is upkept by the local
municipality.
We are situated near the N4 which runs to and from JHB and Kruger National Park.
Machadodorp is steeped in the Boer War history and there are many Boer War sites
in the area, including a Boer War memorial grave yard.
Our hotel itself consists of seven non-smoking en-suite rooms; six of the rooms
are twin bedded and one single. All rooms have DStv bouquet, refreshments (tea
and coffee) and all linen and towels are provided. The rooms all have wooden
desks for the occasional business person or for casual use. All the fitted
wardrobes are constructed from 100year old Oregon pine which used to be the old
cottage roof. We have provided a cash bar for your convenience which is a
smoking area. We provide all meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner (meals should
preferably be booked in advance). We can provide trout fishing lessons and
equipment.
