This is luxury country living at its most genuine: the four cottages at Toorbos occupy a quiet corner of our Toorbos farm overlooking a large dam and some of our Macdamia
George (30km).
Toorbos Cottages are fully equipped for 4 - 6 guests each. Equipment is first class, with Russel Hobbes appliances in kitchens, wide screen TV's in our lounges and outdoor braai areas with Weber gas barbeques. All the cottages are equipped with air-conditioning, luxurious bathrooms with bathing towels (just bring your own beach towels), bath oils, hand soap and hand cream.
Toorbos offers two 1-bedroom and two 2-bedroom self-catering cottages on the lake-side;
- Main bedroom with double bed (electric blankets and oil heater).
- 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds (electric blankets and oil heater).
- Luxurious bathroom.
- Lounge area with TV, DStv, DVD player, CD player & two sleeper couches.
- Fully quipped kitchen with microwave.
- Air-conditioning.
- Wooden deck with Weber gas barbeque.
- Direct water access (the cottages are less than 10 metres away from the waters edge).
- Daily cleaning service, bed linen, bathing towels, filter coffee with plunger and tea, dishwashing liquid & tea towels and fire wood.
Please Note:
- Special extras are the outside shower and outside loo.
- Additional amenities for guests is the use of our bass rods and lures as well as our small bass fishing boat with trawling motor.
- Special smoking areas outside and on the decks.
- No pets allowed.
- Kids, bring 'em, we love 'em.
Guests will love the farm and surrounding areas, we offer walking trails, and mountain biking on the whole 86ha farm and off cource the Bass dam where guests can use all the facilities available such as the boat and fishing rods. Bird watching - Wilderness area is famous as a bird destination, in fact, the lakes area of Wilderness is a Ramsar site - which make it one of the most important birding areas in the world.
Attractions and adventures in the area are;
- Wilderness and Sedgefield's beaches are renowned for their vast stretches of beach, tranquility and the absence of windswept wetlands, wild and stormy seas.
- Wilderness National Park has five rivers and five lakes, two estuaries and 18km of Southern Cape coastline within its 2500 ha boundaries.
- Whale watching, boat tours, & boat charters. This area boasts some of the finest boat based whale and dolphin watching.
- Hoekwil hoopla arts route, Toorbos is the perfect location from which to explore arts route.
- Air sports, breathtaking views of the coast from the air while taking part in sports like paragliding and sky diving.
- Sports and adventure, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, snorkeling, diving, canoeing, golf and boating are just some of the activities available in the garden route and surroundings.
- Numerous animal sanctuaries including bird life, elephants and monkeys, with many nature reserves and nature trails.
- Cultural attractions like the Outeniqua Transport Museum, theaters and tours can be found all around this area.
- "Golfers paradise" the area hosts some of the best golf courses in the country and only to mention a few courses is, George golf club, Simola, Pezula, Oubaai, Fancourt and Pinnacle point in Mosselbaai.
