Klipgat Cave

Klipgat Cave
Klipgat Cave is situated in the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, just 5kms north of Gansbaai in the Western Cape, South Africa. It is one of the most important cultural assets in the Western Cape. It is very popular for its early remains of middle stone age people that have been found here. These remains are apparently dated back as far as 65 000 years ago.

The Klipgat Cave is being upgraded and access is soon to be a lot easier for visitors. At the moment it is quiet a climb to the entrance. There are also plans of having an information centre where visitors can gain information on the area and the cave. This upgrade will benefit many as well as offer opportunities for environmental education for school groups.
Don't miss out on this adventure while visiting the Western Cape.
