Camps Bay, Cape Town

Camps Bay, on the Atlantic Seaboard, is one of the most popular local suburbs in Cape Town. Nestled in amongst the Twelve Apostles and Lion's Head, on the other side of Table Mountain, the scenery in Camps Bay is breathtaking and the cosmopolitan beachfront a vibrant throng of people on pavement cafés and restaurants both night and day.

Camps Bay is a long stretch of white, sandy, palm tree-lined beach and only a short drive over Kloof Nek takes you to Cape Town City Centre. The beach is protected by the mountains from the wind for the most part and on hot days the cold water in Camps Bay makes an exhilarating swim or there is a seawater pool at the southern end of the beach. Camps Bay is trendy and locals and visitors come here to be seen. It is close to the beaches of Clifton, Table Mountain Cableway and the V&A Waterfront.

A wide choice of accommodation in Camps Bay makes it a perfect "base" from which to explore the area. While self catering in Camps Bay is popular, those not wishing to create their own meal itinerary can consider guest houses and bed & breakfasts in Camps Bay.  There is of course also Hotel accommodation in Camps Bay to consider where one can expect 3 meals a day.

Here are 4 things you shouldn't miss when visiting:

1. Camps Bay Beach: This is one of Cape Town's most popular beaches, known for its white sand and beautiful surroundings. Whether you want to sunbathe, swim, or simply take in the scenery, spending time at Camps Bay Beach is a must.

2. Table Mountain: While not technically in Camps Bay itself, the iconic Table Mountain looms large over the area and offers breathtaking views of the coastline. You can hike up the mountain for a more adventurous experience or take the cable car for a more leisurely journey to the top.

3. Lion's Head: Another iconic peak in the area, Lion's Head offers panoramic views of Camps Bay, Table Mountain, and the city of Cape Town. It's a popular spot for hiking, especially at sunrise or sunset when the views are particularly spectacular.

4.
