Umtata / Mthatha has road and rail connections with East London 211km to the south, where you will find some of the best beaches along the Eastern Cape coastline, and an abundance of East London accommodation offering good old-fashioned hospitality.
Another coastal town closer to Umtata is Coffee Bay, 64km from Umtata and 200km along the N2 north of East London. Coffee Bay is known for its rustic "beachcomber-style", where you can get away from it all in Coffee Bay accommodation right on the beach.
