Vonkelfontein Guestfarm is a sleep over on your route from KwaZulu-Natal to the
Kruger National Park.

Nelspruit and Limpopo we are on your way to Kwazulu Natal, Swaziland and Mosambique.
Vonkelfontein Guestfarm is 46km away from
Ermelo and is just a little bit more than half an hours drive to Ermelo.
Take a beautiful sandstone home and you have a real African decor. Add to this a river festooned with weeping willows and the gentle rustling of grass in the wind and one gets the feeling of a place called Vonkelfontein. Situated on the De Emigratie road that was the old main road to Swaziland, the area along this road has some of the most historic farmhouse buildings in Mpumalanga.
The farming activities includes Bonsmara Stud cattle and apple farming that can be viewed upclose. Walking routes, night rides and game viewing are available for visitors. Apple picking season in the
orchards are from February to May and visitors are invited to experience the picking season in the orchards and to taste the apples fresh from the tree. Also on the farm are bushman rock paintings, as well as the so called large snake-fosil.
Vonkelfontein has activities such as horse riding, long walks, mountain biking and fishing. Vonkelfontein is a definite for those wanting rest and a sense of being able to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Ermelo has a lovely golf course.
Your lodge will have all bedding and towels as well as a fully equipped kitchenette with microwave. It caters for 5 persons. One bathroom. Outdoor braai facilities at the lodge. This is real quietness away from TV and traffic noisesonly wonderful views of animals and land.
We have just completed renovating the old historic house where guests have been
enjoying the absolute comfort of the "ou Murasie" farmstead. Accommodation added
is the "ou Perdestal" farmstead which has the same style and African decor. It
accommodates 3 people on single beds and is absolutely cosy and comfortable as
the existing "ou Murasie" which accommodates 5.
We are a perfect stop over for people travelling to the Kruger Park or Nelspruit as Vonkelfontein Guestfarm is situated on the
Newcastle, Volksrust and Amersfoort route.
