Waterhoek is nestled in the heart of the Midlands 20km down river from the
Mooi River village. The 6 kilometres of Waterhoek's river frontage provide great canoeing and rafting in the summer and fishing all year round. Waterhoek
has three cottages: Heron, Barn and Kaphila.
Each cottage is fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave and utensils. Duvets and one extra blanket are provided, please bring towels. Each chalet has its own braai area and fire wood is supplied. 450ha of peaceful surroundings with 5km of river frontage. 2 Two man crocodiles, canoes and tubes for plenty of fun on the river. Fly fishing in river and dams. Natural wildlife and bird watching. Shetland Ponies available for smaller children. Supervised Horse Rides.
Heron Cottage
Heron is the largest chalet with 4 rooms, two bath rooms and a central open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, stove, fridge and utensils. The layout is long and straight facing a pool in the river 50m below, each room having a river view.
The Heron is built out of river rock and thatch all off the farm. There is a fire place in the lounge and a braai area outside. Accommodation layout (bunks - double & single beds) are changed to suit your group i.e.: family gathering or business functions. The Heron accommodates 8 to 10 people.

The Barn
The Barn is built from heavy slate stone walls, this solid building was in the old fashion built to last. There are 3 rooms all leading into the lounge area, the slate verandah has a prime position with a view down the valley and overlooks the Mooi River. There are two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove, fridge and utensils. The main homestead is alongside the Barn, DStv is fed from the homestead as are all the SABC channels. Barn accommodates 6 to 8 people, and has a fire place in the lounge and braai area outside.

Kaphila
Kaphila is a 2 bedroom Cottage (1 Double Bedroom with onsuite shower and toilet
and 1 Room with 2 bunk beds). Open plan kitchen, dinning room, TV - fully
equipped, another shower and toilet. It is 50m from the river. There is a large fire place inside and braai area outside.
Kapila is centrally situated and can also be used for group functions.
Other Activities:
By arrangement it is possible to organize:
- Golf at the Mooi River Country Club
- Fish all year round for yellow fish and small mouth bass in the river. Large mouth bass are caught in our dams year round.
- Rafting
- Horse riding. Supervised out rides last between 1 to 2 hours largely dependant on riders experience.
