We are centrally situated on the MALOTI ROUTE. Ficksburg was named after General
Jan Fick in 1867 and enjoys a scenic location along the banks of the Caledon
River below the Imperani Mountain and is separated from Lesotho by a border post
and bridge crossing the river. Thanks to the Katse dam project, Ficksburg has
grown quite a cosmopolitan community. The majestic Maluti's form a backdrop of
purple haze in summer, to snow capped peaks in winter. Up in the hills of the
Maluti Mountain are numerous caves with lovely examples of San rock art.
Ficksburg is the gateway to Lesotho and the Katse dam, which is definitely
something to see. Ficksburg is best known today for its annual cherry festival,
the oldest festival in South Africa which takes place in November. Other than
the festival, visitors can go cruising on the Meulspruit dam over weekends.

Something about our guesthouse: Professionally managed by your hostess and
owner, Eureka. We are rated a 4 star "Highly recommended guesthouse", opposite
the golf course, squash and tennis courts. There are 11 ensuite rooms with
shower or bath with sleeping couches for children in the Family rooms.
Wheelchair friendly. Swimming pool, equipped with braai and comfortable dining
place. Secure undercover parking with electronic gate and electric fencing.
Dinner is served on request. We cater for all kinds of functions like, birthday
parties, going away or conferences, for up to 30 people.
Our gym instructor, Gerhard, is available to assist you at the guesthouse with
training, weight loss, or workout programs, as well as giving advice or supply
you with certain body building supplements at reasonable prices. He is more than
willing to help you with your healthy lifestyle. His gym is 2km from the
Guesthouse with easy-to-pay daily rates.
We are only 2 km away from the Lesotho border, 110 km away from Katse dam, 75 km
away from Clarens and Golden Gate. The Afri ski resort is only 1 hour's drive
from the guesthouse and most people come and stay with us and visit the resort
as day visitors to experience the snow during June until August. We have
affordable break-away weekend specials and tours to the above can be arranged on
prior arrangement.
