ZEEKOEPAN RIVER LODGE & CHALETS
Private Game Reserve Accommodation
in Magudu, Zululand & Maputuland,
KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Zeekoepan River Lodge & the Chalets all offer luxury, self-catering
facilities, with private "braai"/ lapha areas and unique river viewing decks.
The lodge has three bedrooms, but also house the main lounge, bar, patio,
campfire and large game viewing deck. The chalets are fully equipped to function
as separate units or as sleeping units when the full camp is booked and the
lodge facilities are used. Everything is provided - linen, bath towels and soap,
kitchen (outdoor & indoor cooking), firewood, dishwashing liquid. The only items
that you need to bring are swimming towels, food, and drinks. Larger groups can
also provide their own caravans or tents as a 3000m² campsite is adjacent to the
lodge
Zeekoepan is still affordable for the average South African, without
sacrificing excellence, style and a homely feeling. Children are welcome as
well, and that makes it a great destination for a family holiday. The emphasis
is on a "do-it-yourself" holiday experience where you have no time schedules to
meet for drives or meals. Self guided game drives on 2x4 and 4x4 roads (sedan
vehicles not recommended on bush tacks), find your way with GPS & waypoints,
mountain biking, hiking, camping, 4x4 tracks, game viewing hides at waterholes,
bird watching, river fly fishing and swimming. Guided game drives can be booked
in advance.
Zeekoepan is situated on the banks of the picturesque Mkuze River. It is
a real free roaming haven for our nature loving guests. We have all the normal
bush game and we have three of the Big 5 on Zeekoepan - rhino, buffalo and
leopard. We are surrounded by Big 5 country, through which you must travel to
reach us. One is very likely to see elephant and lion on your way to Zeekoepan.
These reserves are private and the lodges are very exclusive. Unfortunately day
visitors and game drives with private vehicles are NOT allowed on these
properties. Game drives on their properties are the exclusive privilege of
pre-booked overnight guests to these lodges.
