What Matters Gallery - Clarens, Free State

What Matters Gallery: Behind the On the Menu Deli in Main Street, Clarens, is a treasure trove of unusual and appealing objects d'art in the What Matters Gallery. Visitors should prep themselves to spend some pleasurable time browsing through the gallery - you will be amazed at whats to be found.

The Gallery is filled with a variety of original oil, acrylic and water colour paintings, awe inspiring framed photographs as well as beaded and other crafted trinkets, many created by local artists. You will also find a special range of ceramics, mosaics, sheepskin slippers, scatter cushions, throws, clothing, costume jewellery and gifts.

Another benefit of your visit would be to take a look at James Campbells permanent exhibition of wildlife photographs. And at the back of the gallery is a craft studio where old and young alike can have fun with the candle dipping equipment, creating something special to take home. During the week, mosaic classes run by Sue Campbell are regular occurrences where attendees create their own masterpieces to adorn their homes. Classes, anything from a morning to two days, may be arranged on request but pre-booking is essential.
