Only 100 kilometres south of Windhoek travellers will find the beautiful Lake Oanob Resort. The resort is situated on 6200 hectares of property in the beautiful Hardap Region of Namibia. Open to day visitors all year round the resort offers a host of activities including, game drives, hiking, boat rides, canoeing, aqua cycling, giraffe pool bar, or even just swimming in the outdoor pools or in the lake. This is a place where you can set your own pace, you can relax it the peaceful surroundings, you can hire a bike and take to the trails or even pull on some water skis and take to the dam The resort strives towards keeping the landscape the way it is. Surrounded by mountains, hills and the lake, staff at the resort do their very best to offer you peace, beauty and recreation at any time!

On offer are a variety of activities such as a 1 hour game drive in search of game, birds and generally just to enjoy the overall atmosphere of the lake and its landscape. There is a multitude of bird species in various natural habitats and some different fish species. Furthermore a small variety of game such as Giraffe, Zebra, Oryx, Gnu, Impala, Springbok, Blessbok, Waterbok, Nyala, Eland, Hartebeest, Warthog and Ostrich can also be seen roaming the park. A self-drive 4x4 route offers visitors the opportunity to take their own 4x4, a map and just explore the beautiful landscape and the various game at their own leisure. The hiking trails let visitors approach the animals closer than they might be able to do it by car, giving them the opportunity to explore the game park on foot. The hikes vary, starting with easy paths and beautiful view points. Then there is the visit to the highest dam wall. This is a very enjoyable hike and gives visitors the chance to have a little pick-nick at the view point. A faster way of hiking, or a slower way of game driving is offered in the way of bike rentals. Whether you want to take a ride to Rehoboth or to the Dam wall, Bicycles are available.

And for those who have never quite been able to stand on water (water ski), you can have great fun getting pulled around the lake behind a speeding boat. The resort also offer the Fish Eagle Cruise which consists of a floating pontoon equipped with a bar, toilet and music facilities. The cruise can accommodate up to 60 adults and offers pre-arranged catering. No own food or drinks are allowed.

And for something quite special and relaxing there is the Giraffe Pool Bar. The heated waters of this aquatic bar bring a nice change compared to the pool or the lake. With a drink in your hand and surrounded by beautiful formed giraffe statues visitors can enjoy the stunning views over the lake and the mountain. With its relaxing atmosphere it is no wonder that the Giraffe Pool Bar is the best place to be after a busy week.
