Under the care of the KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Service, Spioenkop Dam and Nature Reserve comprise an area approximately 4,400 hectares in size.
Situated 35 kilometres from the well known Battlefields town of Ladysmith and 14 kilometres from the Drakensberg town of Winterton, Spioenkop Dam is a favourite tourist destination in Natal.
Visitors can enjoy the unique experience of walking through bush populated by white rhino, giraffe, buffalo and eland, accompanied by a game guard.
