Mont Plaisir offers self catering accommodation near Fouriesburg, where you can discover and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Eastern Free State Highlands.

Mont Plaisir is situated on a hill with nice views over the surrounding mountains, a working farm with cattle and varying crops that offers self-catering accommodation. Our accommodation, except the Field Cottage , is set in a 5 hectare plot with lots of beautiful trees and there are spectacular views. There is also a lappa with a hammock at your disposal where you can enjoy a sundowner.

Our Field Cottage is pet friendly and seperate from the other cottages with spectacular views.

The Farm House:
A large charming house built in the 1960s. It has a spacious lounge with a big fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen. There are 3 large bedrooms with king size beds. All beds have electric blankets in wintertime. It will accommodate 6 people based on 2 persons per room. We can put in additional single beds when required. There are 2 bathrooms: one with a shower and one with a bath. There is an outside braai area. The house is beautifully situated under large trees. This unit is perfect for a family or a group of friends who enjoy country charm.

The Field Cottage:
This is a very nice self catering cottage and it is pet friendly. Build from sandstone and thatch it will offer you full privacy , situated on a slope overlooking the valley and the mountains. It has a lounge with fireplace, in the lounge is a double sleeper couch and fully equipped kitchen, one bedroom with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. From the Thatched veranda you can enjoy the sunset over the mountains. The beds have electric blankets in wintertime.

The Rondavel:
This is a nice romantic self catering unit, built from sandstone and thatch. It has one bedroom with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom (shower). In the lounge is a double sleeper couch. There is a small but well equipped kitchen and in the lounge is a nice fire place. In the bedroom are a panel heater and an electric blanket on the bed. In the lounge is an extra panel heater. It is beautifully located under large old trees in the garden. This unit is perfect for a couple or for a couple with one or two children.

The Chalet:
This is a nice self catering unit. Set with the front to the west, it offers from the veranda a fully un-obstructed view and the most stunning sunsets over the White Mountains. It has one bedroom with a Queen-size bed and a three-quarter bed and an en-suite bathroom (shower and bath). It has a comfortable fully equipped kitchen and a nice lounge opening to the veranda. In the lounge is a double sleeper couch. This unit is very suitable for a family with some children. The beds have electric blankets and in the lounge are a nice fire place and a panel heater.

The Room in the historic Main House:
In this historic sandstone house we offer a bedroom with a queen size bed and an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. The Room is situated at the beautiful stoep and has his own entrance. In the Room are coffee and tea facilities ( not self catering). The stoep , the braai and a small fridge are at your disposal. There are electric blankets in winter and a panelheater.

All cottages have their private outside braais.

Things to do on the farm or in the area:

• On the farm are walking trials.
• Closeby there is hiking, 4x4 trials, rock art , white water rafting, lion reserves, horse riding.
• During winter we are the gateway for your snow fun at the Afri-Ski resort in Lesotho.
• A short scenic drive from the farm to Clarens and Golden Gate National park.
