Exotic Animal World (previously Butterfly World), located on Route 44 in Klapmuts, Cape Winelands, is a unique destination that offers an immersive experience for animal lovers and families alike. This fascinating animal park, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Cape Winelands between Stellenbosch and Paarl, provides visitors with the chance to encounter a diverse array of exotic and domestic animals in a safe and educational environment.

Please Note: we no longer have butterflies on-site.
Due to adjustments in international trade during the coronavirus pandemic, we have ceased importing butterfly pupae from overseas.
Local butterflies are not suitable for tropical garden displays. As a result, we are no longer a butterfly park and have shifted our focus to caring for rescued and surrendered exotic pets.
Our tropical gardens now feature a variety of exotic rescue birds, and during your visit, you can also see hundreds of other animals that have found a new lease on life here at the sanctuary.
