Sardinia Bay lies between the seaside resort of Seaview and the small coastal village of Schoenmakerskop on the road just outside Port Elizabeth. As part of the Sunshine Coast, Sardinia Bay offers visitors miles of endless sand and unspoilt beauty and the Sardinia Bay beach walk lays claim to being one of the best in the area. There are a number of picnic spots and horse riding is popular.
No fishing is allowed along this part of the coast, as it has been declared a Marine Reserve, however you can snorkel and scuba dive and the protected marine life and a number of sunken vessels off the coastline make wonderful diving sites.
Sardinia Bay is also the start of the 8 km Sacramento hiking trail, named after a sunken Portuguese ship on the offshore reefs. This well-known ramble passes through vegetated dunes and bridle paths of the Sardinia Bay Nature Reserve.
